Project Manager Eastern CT Coordinated Access Network Housing & Homelessness
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, plus 6 years of documented experience, or a combination of relevant education and applicable work experience, including proven ability to manage project teams as evidenced by 2 years of management level supervisory experience. Preference for experience working with households experiencing homelessness.
Knowledge of the issues faced by homeless families and singles, particularly people experiencing chronic homelessness, strong communication skills (written, oral) and computer skills (multiple software systems, MS Office) Experience with Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) preferred.
Current driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle, statewide travel expected.
The Eastern CT Coordinated Access Network (CAN) is a collaborative of various service providers, working to assist people experiencing homelessness. Efforts are coordinated through the establishment of CANs to streamline and standardize the process for individuals and families to access assistance. Coordinated Access is required by the Federal HEARTH Act, which governs most of the federal funding communities receive to address homelessness, and supported by the State of Connecticut Department of Housing. The primary goal of the Coordinated Access Network is to help communities focus on rapidly ending each person’s homelessness by connecting them with appropriate housing and resources as quickly as possible. The Eastern CT CAN Coordinator will serve to synchronize the utilization of resources offered by partnering service providers through the facilitation of recurring meetings, prioritizing the allocation of available housing resources, ensuring regional data quality, and assisting in case conferencing. The successful candidate must possess the skill sets of patience, understanding and diplomacy to work with a challenging client base. The CAN Coordinator must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with service providers, government officials, and community leaders, as well as an established ability to build, lead, and work within a team framework. The CAN Coordinator will be expected to possess good organizational, analytical, and communication skills as well as experience with group facilitation, training, and working in and fostering a collaborative environment. This position will represent TVCCA while serving in an instrumental role to support the entirety of the Eastern CT Coordinated Access network to develop effective, coordinated efforts by providing best-practices insights and linkages to statewide and regional efforts to end homelessness.
