This position works directly with individuals and families seeking assistance with their winter heating costs and other social service needs. Responsibilities include completing intake and eligibility into TVCCA’s Energy Assistance Program, CL&P/Yankee Gas Matching Payment Programs including Low Budget Worksheets, the NewStart Program, Operation Fuel, and Citizens Energy. In addition the Energy Case Manager, Assurance 16 will identify high energy users and promote energy saving measures with the goal of reducing overall energy load. In addition, the knowledge to address heating crisis including shut-off and inoperable heating systems is a must. This position requires knowledge of social service supports as well as an understanding of household financial management, including the ability to facilitate energy conservation based financial literacy workshops. This position also provides for case management services to clients during the energy off-season.

 


Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service or related field plus one year of related experience, Associates Degree plus three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Access), and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a diverse client population are a must.
