Inserter Operator 3
Set up, adjust and operate various inserting equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.
Inserts address tags into mail sacks, tubs or trays used for bulk mailing of ID cards, kits and daily insurance correspondence.
Maintain a clean work area by properly storing supplies and equipment, removing waste and cleaning tools.
Produce a quality product that exceeds our customer’s expectations; following the requirements of documented processes. Perform quality control during each mailing to ensure product meets USPS requirements.
Reads postal statement and sorts mail accordingly.
Cleans, lubricates and maintains assigned machine to ensure its optimum operation.

Requires excellent knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment.
Ability to perform basic mathematics (i.e. decimals, metric units) to understand dimensional requirements contained in job orders and to make more complicated adjustments.
Ability to use the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the bindery machines. Skill in making adjustments to powered machines using hand tools (i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) as well as more specialized hand tools, usually furnished by the machine manufacturer.
Ability to read and interpret documents to include job tickets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals which indicates the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the work and maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided.
Able to work extended hours and weekends
Must regularly and frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds.
Minimum 2 years experience operating mailing/inserter equipment required. Pitney Bowes Flowmaster experience a plus.
