Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate

Van Andel Institute is a leading independent biomedical research and education facility dedicated to determining the epigenetic, genetic, molecular and cellular origins of cancer, Parkinson’s and other diseases, and translating those findings into effective therapies. The Institute is home to more than 400 scientists and support staff that work in on-site laboratories and in collaborative partnerships that span the globe.

The  Haab Laboratory, led by Brian Haab, Ph.D. is seeking to hire either a Postdoctoral Researcher or a Research Associate. 

The Haab Laboratory works to enable the more accurate diagnosis and prognosis of pancreatic cancer. The laboratory develops new approaches to the molecular characterization of subtypes of pancreatic cancer and translates the information into clinical tests. Glycobiology is a major focus. The position is available immediately. 

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or M.S. (or equivalent degree) with experience and publications in the fields of molecular biology and/or analytical chemistry and/or scientific computing and programming.

The Project:

The project involves developing and applying new methods to characterize and measure protein glycoforms in clinical samples; determining relationships between molecular and clinical information; developing and applying in vivo and in vitro assays for functional analysis; and working with many collaborators.
