Material Handler - Bindery Lead
Read work order or follow verbal instructions to determine materials or components and compile kits.
Perform pre-assembly duties to include opening boxes and stocking the kitting area with needed materials.
Use pallet jacks and hand trucks to pull materials from the warehouse, move and stage them in the kitting area, and move finished product to the shipping area.
Work as part of a team in the kitting and finishing areas and assemble various types of documents and materials into completed kits for customers. This will include not only the assembly of hand kitted projects but the finishing as well to include shrink wrapping, binding, banding, sorting, counting, etc.
Assist with organizing daily labor used in the kitting area and provide instructions in order to produce the required number of kits for shipment.
Perform quality checks and verify all work meets quality standards.
Pack finished kits into cartons for shipping.
Count and record number of kits produced on daily production sheet.
Complete pallet tags and packing slips to ensure accurate tracking.
Maintain necessary documentation and files. May perform inventory counts and follow inventory management procedures to maintain control of items stored in the warehouse.
May serve as backup for performing manual and clerical duties related to the shipment of finished product via parcel carriers (FedEx and UPS), internal freight fleet, or third party LTL carrier.

Knowledge of kitting/fulfillment procedures and ability to read and understand job specifications to determine kitting/fulfillment and shipping instructions.
Knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes and warehouse procedures in order to be able to place or pull paper stock and materials in accordance with standard procedures.
Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items based on instructions. Skill in completing manual and computerized forms and shipping documents relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
Requires knowledge of basic arithmetic. Verbal and written communication skills. Internal customer service skills.
Work as part of a team and independently. Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Able to effectively provide and follow work directions and meet deadlines.
Able to safely operate or learn to safely operate pallet jacks and hand trucks.
Able to follow safety procedures and work safely. Able to lift up to 50 lbs, walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, twist, push, and pull up to 10 hours/day.
