BizTalk Developer/Architect

The purpose of this role is to provide overall direction, guidance and definition of the information technology architecture to effectively support the corporate business strategy.


Responsibilities include research, analysis, design, proposal, and delivery of solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Work is typically conducted unsupervised with direction given in terms of desired outcomes only.   May have to re-define processes if needed and provide subject matter expertise when working on assignments that typically are enterprise reaching or have high visibility for the organization.   


Further breakdown of responsibilities include: 


  • Develop and maintain EDI/XML integration with BizTalk server (BizTalk Mapper, Orchestration, etc)
  • Design, develop, test and deploy web applications using ASP.NET and C# with .NET framework 4.0/2.0 or later
  • Develop/add functionalities to in-house Windows and web applications using .NET, C# and SQL Server
  • Extract and analyze data, provide SQL queries and reports to satisfy business requests for information
  • Facilitate the assessment and decision making process, providing expertise regarding options and directions, and ensuring that appropriate issues are recognized and resolved
  • Anticipate associated technical issues affecting the architecture and communicate issues to appropriate team member(s)
  • Support the translation of system direction, technologies and priorities into a map to lead efforts toward migration objectives
  • Collaborate with principal customers and business analysts in applications, enterprise infrastructure, business technology, and other key departments, to define current architectures, identify real or potential problem areas, and facilitate consensus on integration, nature and timing of changes
  • Provide direction and mentoring to the team to ensure consistent architectural approaches are utilized
  • Work with project managers to aid in the coordination of project timelines, resource allocation and other project activities, from an architecture perspective.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned


Required Skills

  • Bachelor degree in discipline related to functional work or role, with 8-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience using BizTalk Mapper, Orchestration, EDI integrations, and XML
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in web development using ASP.NET and C++
  • Proven understanding of Warehouse Management System
  • Must have demonstrated expertise, understanding, and knowledge in the following:
  •                 - System analysis and design techniques
                    - Technical architecture, current information systems supporting the enterprise
                    - Providing architectural risk assessments and architecture reviews of software systems
                    - Functional analysis at the enterprise level
                    - Data analysis and modeling at the enterprise level

  • Ability to work with/in the following systems/software/;languages:

           - EDI/XML
           - ASP.NET
           - C#
           - Visual Basic
           - Visual Studio 2015/2013/2010
           - .NET 4.0/3.5/2.0
           - AJAX
           - JavaScript
           - SQL Server 2008/2012/2016 databases (T-SQL, stored procedures, etc.)
           - API Integrations
           - EFI Radius

  • Able to conceptualize solutions, build consensus and execute solutions
  • Able to evaluate business requirements and deliver solution designs based on business requirements
  • Able to consistently contribute effort, leadership, and creative thinking to solve complex and significant problems in a collaborative fashion
  • Able to communicate complex concepts, problems and solutions clearly and effectively to all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrate ability to perform at the highest level of proficiency in utilizing tools and applications to complete assignments 
  • Able to work on special projects to enhance internal system functionality from the operational business perspective
