THE TEAM   

Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our Chapters around the country. The People Team is comprised of innovative professionals who elevate our strategic talent programs for the national office, while extending resources and support to our chapters.  

 

THE ROLE   

The Senior Manager, Talent Development & Culture will be responsible for the learning and development strategy for Make-A-Wish (MAW) leaders, employees, and other target audiences. They will be responsible for the delivery of enterprise culture-building, development, and engagement programs, including components of DEIB. This position will drive the design, develop, and delivery of learning and development programs and solutions, across multiple modalities that align with the organization’s goals and annual cycle plans. 

The Senior Manager. Talent Development & Culture will be responsible for leading a learning solutions design expert and working collaboratively with the People (HR) and Strategy Teams as well as colleagues across the enterprise to identify learning and development needs via qualitative and quantitative data and external benchmarks/assessments to inform the learning journey.  The learning and development team will utilize change management methodology to drive content delivery and adoption of learning enterprise-wide.

 

WHERE YOU COME IN   

As the Senior Manager, Talent Development & Culture you will:   

  • Provide talent development planning and consulting and project implementation in support of business objectives.
  • Research, effectively design, develop, and continuously refine customized training content in multiple modalities (blended, virtual instructor-led, e-learning, guides, and resource materials). 
  • Facilitate learning programs, courses, and workshops, across a multitude of subjects. Subject matter will include but not limited to leadership development, organizational development, DEIB, onboarding, and employee compliance topics.  
  • Conducts needs assessments and translates results into creative and comprehensive learning solutions or support.
  • Identify and assess future and current organizational learning needs by building partnerships and gathering input from key organizational stakeholders. 
  • Evaluate existing learning solutions for efficiency, effectiveness, and/or for potential leverage and broader usage.
  • Identify and implement program improvements, tools, and technology to enhance processes for learning execution.
  • Assess and define parameters for delivering and measuring learning; continually review opportunities for improvement and establish metrics for success.
  • Evaluate and manage external vendors as needed.
  • Develops enterprise learning and innovation strategy that ties to the overall Strategic Plan and is reviewed and updated at least annually.
  • Creates training and development content using instructional design techniques and expertise.
  • Responsible for the oversight, data integrity/reporting, and process documentation and system improvement such as MAW LMS.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED  

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, business, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development and/or Organizational Development and Instructional Design experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Preferred certifications:  Enneagram, DISC, MBTI, Korn Ferry 360, EQI, SL, Prosci
  • Experienced in creating learning and development experiences that promote a culture of inclusion and belonging
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training using a variety of training platforms/techniques (i.e. classroom, e-learning, webinars, gaming, etc.)
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and Adult Learning Principles
  • Familiarity with learning technology ranging from LMS to web-enabled learning solutions such as Articulate, WellSaid etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required in addition to training.
  • Position may require travel to organizational conferences and events.
